ABOUT THE AUTHOR
For nearly four decades, Greg Daniele has sat on every side of the table in real estate development finance, as an auditor, as a controller inside the business, and as the person responsible for the software that runs it all.

YEARS IN THE FIELD
THE PATH HERE
Greg began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he learned how the numbers are supposed to work and saw how often the systems behind them did not. He moved inside the industry as a controller, living with the month-end closes, draw requests, and budget-versus-actual reports that always seemed to arrive too late to change anything.
That frustration became a career. As president of Budgetrac Systems, Greg spent years designing and implementing accounting software built specifically for real estate developers: the kind of operation where a single project can run for years, and a single bad assumption can quietly erase a margin.
Today he works as an Acumatica reseller and advisor, helping development firms replace a patchwork of spreadsheets and disconnected tools with a single, forward-looking financial system.
Looking Through the Windshield is the culmination of everything he has learned in his career, bringing simple, implementable solutions to the myriad of software frustrations real estate developers face every day.
His argument is simple, and he has watched it prove true on project after project: the problem is almost never the people. It is the architecture underneath them.
